Into the Blue

Into the Blue draws you into a luminous space where light and colour dissolve into a dreamlike state. This expansive work, created in alcohol ink across a 90 × 70.5 cm canvas, captures the ethereal quality of Irish light, that peculiar atmospheric magic where sky meets water and boundaries blur.

The medium's fluid nature allows pigment to flow and blend organically, creating depth and movement that invites contemplation. Atmospheric washes suggest landscape without definition, evoking the feeling of standing within mist or gazing through layers of gauze. Each layer of ink reveals and obscures in turn, mirroring how light shifts across the Irish coast.

A meditation on colour, atmosphere, and the spaces between clarity and dream.
