About the Artist

Inspired by the ever-changing light of the Irish landscape and the organic world of the Phoenix Park on her doorstep, Elaine Watters is a Dublin-based Irish artist who returned to painting during the pandemic, bringing with her a photographer's eye for light, composition, and the quiet drama of the natural world. She works in watercolour, inks, acrylics, alcohol inks, and mixed media. In July 2021, as the world began to open again, Elaine held her first exhibition in her garden and it was a success with a new commission book open. The following month, Elaine Watters Art was born.

Before art became her business, Elaine built a career in pharmaceutical marketing, but creativity was always calling. Following a career change, she retrained in commercial photography, interior design, and digital marketing, each discipline sharpening her eye for details of light, composition, and beauty. Painting was the natural destination.

Her work explores the fluid, unpredictable beauty of nature through mediums that mirror its organic flow... pigments that bloom, merge, and move with a life of their own. Rooted in the Irish landscape and the light that envelops it, her paintings and wearable art speak to themes of inner strength, resilience, and self-belief, with women as her primary audience and muse.

Elaine's art is not about a particular place, it is about an emotion, a memory, a fleeting moment... through each piece with its unique colours and texture, the viewer can remember their own story and place. It is an invitation, to pause and slow down, to notice the light, and to trust in your own creative power.

The journey so far...

Since launching Elaine Watters Art in 2021, Elaine has built a remarkable exhibition record. She has held multiple solo shows including 'Hibernian Light' (2025), The Energy Within (2024) and 'Colour My World' (2023) and has participated in prestigious group exhibitions at The Cowshed Gallery, Farmleigh (2025), Merrion Square and St Stephen's Green, Dun Laoghaire (Art on the Veranda). In 2023 she was selected as a wildcard contestant on Landscape Artist of the Year.

Most recently, in April 2026, she was selected to represent Ireland at the Fabriano Acquarelle Festival in Italy, one of the world's leading watercolour festivals. Elaine has developed strong relationships with Interior Designers and Hotels in building her commission business and has recently exhibited at Design Source 2026. Elaine is also a frequent exhibitor at Ireland's premier trade shows, including Showcase and Gifted where she presents her work to buyers, interior designers, and collectors.

Abstract Art Shaped by Light and Space

Each piece begins with observation — the way morning light filters through Phoenix Park, the shifting palette of an Irish sky, the quiet energy of the landscape. Working in watercolour, inks, acrylics and mixed media, Elaine captures moments that feel both fleeting and eternal.
