Elaine Watters

I’m Elaine Watters, a Dublin-based artist and designer with a passion for exploring the beauty of transformation through abstract mixed media. My work is inspired by the ever-changing rhythms of nature... the shifting light, the pull of the tide, and the organic patterns that shape both our inner and outer worlds.

After a varied career in business & marketing, I followed my heart into a full-time art career, where creativity has become both my language and my way of connecting with others. I create original paintings, fine art prints, and textile pieces such as silk scarves and ties, blending vibrant colour, movement, and texture to capture moments of strength, fragility, and flow.

Alongside my studio practice, I exhibit widely in solo and group shows, teach art workshops, and design collections that bring art into everyday life. I’m a founding member of the Farmleigh en plein air group, a former Chairperson of Horizon Art Group, a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland, and a member of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland — all of which keep me deeply engaged in the Irish arts community. I love to connect with people through my art practice.

For me, art is not only about what you see, but about what you feel. Each piece is an invitation to pause, reflect, and discover something new within yourself.

I am an Irish mixed media artist inspired by the rich colours and textures of nature and the sea. Using bold expressive mark-making and vibrant colours the intention I always aim to create joy and bring an uplifting presence to your interior space. I work in a versatile range of media from vibrant alcohol inks to muted toned watercolours, pen and inks, acrylics and oils, often merging some or all of the above in my art to create original mixed media Art.

As a self taught Artist, I have a strong belief that everyone has the ability to be creative once you remove the fear of failure. This philosophy is applied constantly in my work and I experiment and push my own creative boundaries in a fluid and creative style of painting.
